Final Standings, Parting Words From Tom Jones

So here it is: the final standings from this year's Media League Softball Tournament, sponsored by Colton's, home of the black-eyed peas and cornbread. The Arkansas Business Newshounds took third place in the tournament, an excellent showing for a standout team whose every player contributed! Before we get to the final scores, here's some parting thoughts from League Commissioner Tom Jones:

Hope that all of you enjoyed the softball this season. The tournament layout made a big difference in regards to people staying around and enjoying the day. My thanks go out to all of you for playing so hard, and helping with drinks.

Just a little about the tournament for all of you. Citadel proved why the double elimination works so well. They lost their first game, then won three in a row, before falling to Arkansas Business. How about KTHV 11 making it to the Championship game for the 6th straight year. That says something about that team, great job Tom Brannon, and Nick Genty for keeping such a strong team! Let's not forget Arkansas Business. Arkansas Business had their best regular season ever, and they had a great tournament, just coming up one game short of the Championship. Hat's off to Lance Turner and his team, great job!!

Once again, thanks to all the players, their families and friends for being part of the team. It was a great year. Thanks to our marketing/PR intern Stacy for playing in the tournament and helping us get some extra runs! And thanks, of course, to Jeff and Olivia and the rest of the company for letting us play and supporting us. We couldn't have done it without you guys!
