Where We Stand

Today's update from Media League Commissioner and Swingin' Ladies Man Tom Jones, with a revision to the previous weekend's standings:
Let's start with two weeks ago. Equity did in fact have enough players show up to get the win, so the forefit has been removed from them.

Now for the results of this past Saturday.

8:00 Dem Bums (19) vs Ar Business (4)
9:00 KTHV 11 (14) vs Equity (12)
10:00 Citadel (10) vs Got Paper? (16)
11:00 Archway (7) vs KATV 7 (17)
12:00 Clear Ch (6) vs KARK 4 (16)

Standings through 5 weeks

KARK 4 5-0
Ar Business 4-1
Dem Bums 4-1
Got Paper? 4-1
Equity 2-3
KATV 7 2-3
KTHV 11 2-3
Citadel 1-4.5
Archway 0-5.5

These standing show that the Newshounds, despite Saturday's anomaly, are still in the hunt for a good seeding in this year's tournament. KARK remains undefeated. The Newshounds face the NBC affiliate on June 11 -- wouldn't it be sweet to give them a loss during the last game of the regular season?

Now, on to this week's games:

Games times for this Saturday

8:00 Equity vs Got Paper?
9:00 KARK 4 vs Archway
10:00 AR Business vs KTHV 11
11:00 Clear Ch vs Citadel
12:00 KATV 7 vs Archway

KTHV Scouting Report
This is a talented team that has, unfortunately, has difficulty rounding up players for all its dates this year. Andy Pearson "anchors" the team with solid pitching, and News Director Mark Raines provides back up. Despite having only seven payers versus the Dem Bums two Saturdays ago, the THVers scored a respectable 12 runs, losing to the Democrat-Gazette by 4. They scored 11 versus Got Paper?, but lost that matchup as well.

Game time is 10 a.m. at Reservoir Park. No pressure, but you can bet Jeff Hankins is already talking smack. As for the Newshounds team, the best thing is to keep our heads up, our mouths shut and our eye on the ball. This week, we bounce back!
